futurezones is a fundraising programme series offering an expanded vision of theatre and theatre-making. Our inaugural run brings together a wide-ranging curation of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary practitioners who muddy categories and disciplines through strategic, exuberant, and curiosity-driven choices.
Your support for futurezones contributes towards the staging of Descendants, our debut work that has been in development since 2024.
We invite you to walk with us at the arbitrary yet vital boundaries that separate one discipline from another, to explore the permeability of these membranes.
What kinds of theatre are we dreaming of?
What kinds of artistic processes have been diminished by the pressures of KPIs, profit, and prestige?
How do artists nonetheless persist in such processes through strategic orientations, supportive networks, privileges, and sacrifices?
futurezones shows us that our dreams are not lonely ones, but points of desire and drive which lead us to one another — to join forces and bring our visions into being.
